Several workspaces
A workspace is one customer account: its agents, previews, domains and members. On the hosted service one person, identified by their email address, can be a member of several workspaces, for example a consultant who works with two clients, or a company with separate workspaces for two teams.
What belongs to whom
Section titled “What belongs to whom”| Belongs to the person (the same everywhere) | Belongs to each membership |
|---|---|
| Name and email address | Role, grants and groups |
| Passkeys, authenticator app, recovery codes | Enabled or disabled |
| Preferred workspace | Invitation and last activity |
A console session acts in one workspace at a time. Everything you see and change is in that workspace; another workspace’s previews, agents and people do not exist from here, even if you belong to both.
The switcher
Section titled “The switcher”With two or more workspaces, the workspace name at the top of the sidebar is a menu. It lists your workspaces with your role in each and a check on the current one. Choosing one:
- checks that the membership is still open to you (enabled, invitation not lapsed, workspace active);
- applies that workspace’s sign-in requirements for your role there, which may ask for your second sign-in step;
- opens that workspace’s Overview.
The switch is recorded in both workspaces’ activity logs, without naming the other workspace.
Where sign-in lands
Section titled “Where sign-in lands”Among the workspaces open to you:
- your preferred workspace, if you set one;
- otherwise the one you used last;
- otherwise the oldest.
Set the preference on Sign-in and security → Workspaces (shown with two or more): Last used (the default) or a particular workspace.
What admins see
Section titled “What admins see”A workspace’s admins see only your membership there: your name, address, role and activity in that workspace. They never see which other workspaces you belong to, and they cannot change your name, address or sign-in methods. Remove ends only your membership in their workspace; Reset sign-in methods is not available to them for a person in several workspaces.
Joining another workspace
Section titled “Joining another workspace”An admin of that workspace invites your address. If you already have an account, the invitation adds the workspace to it and you keep your sign-in methods. A self-hosted edge has a single workspace.
